Niche Affiliate Marketing Program
What is a niche-affiliate-marketing-program?
Niche affiliate marketing is most popularly done through SEO articles and placing related affiliate links of the page or some affiliates build an actual 'store' using product links and tools provided in the affiliate program.
A more active affiliate may offer newsletters and other dynamic information about their niche from their website to attract visitors and market their site and affiliate products. More traffic converts to higher sales.
The advantage of using a specfic niche for your affiliate marketing program, is to target specific traffic which should result in a higher sales conversion rate. It also allows you to market specific 'long tail' keywords that may not be as popular, allowing a small guy to compete. The traffic it does draw will be very targeted and will result in higher conversion rate.
Making money through niche affiliate marketing programs
Making money through affilate programs is big business. And if done right, you can make a lot of money marketing niche products or services through an affiliate program.
Establishing your niche, building a web site specfically for that niche are just the first steps. Marketing the site and getting traffic are the most important factors to making money.
Using SEO Articles for getting traffic
Making money through niche affiliate marketing programs using SEO articles takes some work and effort. Although it may take a lot of work up front, what you are looking for is long term results.
Affiliates using SEO articles of a niche products will publish articles or information on their website that are about their specific niche and written in a search engine friendly manner using specific keywords.
Within these pages, there are links to affiliate programs that sell related products for their niche. The goal of using 'keywords' in the content is to get specifically targeted traffic to the site, providing a higher percentage of conversion to sale.
The publisher then will take actions that place their pages high in the major search engines. This is not easy to do, given the amount of competition. But if you have chosen your keywords carefully, it can be done.
Having SEO friendly articles on your site is just the starting point. You would then need to get 'backlinks' to the site. Google ranks pages higher if they have lots of backlinks. Especially if those backlinks come from higher ranked pages.
As an example, you may want to submit some of your articles to article directories. Article directories allow you to put a link at the end of the articles back to your site. Some article directories are ranked higher on google and therefore getting a backlink from them would be a good thing. You do want to ensure your article is unique. Using someone elses article would not be a good idea and could get you negative results (google has algorythms that compare content and therefore can detect duplicate content).
Getting links in directories can be helpful, but they are not usually ranked as high as if they are from a site with similar content.
Finding blogs or forums that have related subject matter to your niche. Posting helpful tips and information onto these sites is a good way to get a good backlink. You don't want to blatantly market your site, you are only after the backlink, so post articles and information that is helpful to the community you are posting to. The ranking of that blog or forum can impact the importance of your backlink.
Keep in mind that many blog and forum software has a default a meta tag setting called "no follow". What this does is block any backlinks from being picked up by the search engines. This protects the forum or blog from spammers. However many bloggers and forums depend on getting this feedback and have removed this meta tag or changed it to 'follow'. So before spending a lot of time posting, check to see if the site has 'no follow' tags. If so, don't waste your time, move on and find ones that will benefit you and allow 'follow' tags.
You can also buy backlinks. There are pros and cons of buying backlinks, as some say this can get you banned or de-indexed by Google.
Advertising to get traffic to your niche affiliate site.
The easiest and fastest way to get traffic to your niche affiliate marketing program site is to sign up and pay for PPC (Pay per Clicks) through the search engines. Google, Yahoo and MSN are among the most popular and the most expensive. If you don't have much budget, you might want to use a lesser expensive PPC program such as 'Enhance". Enhance is newer directory and their PPC prices are still very good. You don't need to worry about where the traffic comes from, just that it is targeted.
Where to find affiliate marketing programs for your niche
There are many Affiliate networks that you can sign up for that provide a variety of affiliate programs. The advantage of using an affiliate network is that you can have multiple affiliate programs with one easy to use interface for report tracking. They also take care of the handling the payouts.
When selecting a program, be sure to find out if they use cookies and how long those before the cookie expires. For example, if someone clicks on a link on your site and takes them to a product, but they don't buy it right away...say they come back in 15 days and buy it....do you still get credit? The longer before the cookie expires, the better the program is for you. One very popular affiliate program is Amazon, but amazon does not retain their cookies, so if the customer does not buy the product at the time they link to Amazon from your site...but comes back, say an hour later...you do not get the sale unless the relink from your site. Consequently, we do not recommend Amazon as a good affiliate program.
Just a few of the affiliate networks include:
Another way to find an affiliate program for your niche affiliate marketing program is to search for the product online. Find providers that offer the product(s) and see if any of them offer an affiliate program.
